Program Description

This degree is designed for persons who hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education. The program supports practicing music educators and music professionals through a hybrid structure that combines intensive on-campus summer study with synchronous and asynchronous online coursework during the academic year.

Coursework emphasizes curriculum design, assessment, psychology of music and learning, performance-informed pedagogy, philosophy, and reflective professional practice. Students engage in advanced study integrating research, theory, and informed pedagogical practice across diverse educational contexts.

Graduates of the program are prepared for leadership roles in music education and are qualified to pursue doctoral study in music education.
